Rainer Baumann

Rainer Baumann is the Group Chief Information and Operating Officer of Migros, a major retail conglomerate in Switzerland with about 100’000 employees and CHF 30bn revenue. In his role he is responsible for Technology, Data & Analytics, Digital, Engineering, Supply Chain, Transport and Logistics. Previously, 2013-2019 head lead Swiss Re’s Group Digital and Information division. Until 2013, he was a non-equity partner in McKinsey's Business Technology Office. He was 2005 - 2015 a lecturer for Technical Computer Science and Information Security at ETH Zurich. Rainer Baumann holds a PhD in Information Technology, an MSc in Computer Science and two master's degrees in Secondary and Higher Education from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH).
