Dr. Suzanne Thoma

Dr. Suzanne Thoma was appointed Executive Chairwoman of Sulzer in November 2022, after having been appointed. Chairwoman of the Board of Sulzer in April 2022. Before joining Sulzer, Thoma served from January 2013 – June 2022 as CEO of the BKW Group, an international energy and infrastructure service company. Previously, she served as head of the BKW Power Grid from August 2010 until her appointment as CEO in January 2013. Suzanne Thoma has a Ph.D. in Technical Science and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the ETH Zurich. In the first 15 years of her industrial career, she served in multiple leadership roles for Ciba Special Chemicals and Rolic Technologies (today part of the BASF Group). Thoma is Vice-president of the "thinktank" Avenir Swiss, Honorary Councilor of the ETH Zurich as well as a member of the Board of the ETH foundation.
