Alexandra Karle
Managing Director, Swiss Amnesty International
Alexandra Karle has been Managing Director of Amnesty International Switzerland since 2020. Between 1987 and 1992, she studied law with a focus on international law, political science and communication science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). She also studied International Law and Journalism at the American University (AU) in Washington, D.C. in 1990/91, where she also began her journalistic career at NBC International. From 2012, Alexandra worked for Amnesty Switzerland, first as a media spokesperson, then as Program Manager Communications & Advocacy and member of the Executive Board. Prior to this, she worked for 15 years as a political television journalist for various German TV stations and repeatedly reported from conflict and crisis areas around the world.
